We mudded our way into Mexico City today. The area had much more rain than anywhere else we have been previously, but Diego navigated in, around, and through the puddles (some could be classified as ponds and/or large bodies of muck). Needless to say, it was a lot of fun.
We passed new candidates for the "Carcass Calendar". These will be open to review later in the month. (If you are unaware of this publication, please consult your nearest pastor[ AKA Senor Ernie].) Hopefully these new pictures make the cut.
We had a wonderful meal with Gabriella and Poncho in their home once we arrive in Mexico City. Currently we are looking through the 7-8 lbs of pictures. Chavez feels like Kinkos. We will later distribute these photos as soon as possible and reconnect with the families that Rosa, Ricky, and Lucy met earlier this year.
We also spent time with Poncho and Gabriella as we watched the videos that was made in the previous trip. We are excited to see the response of the people, because many of them were involved in a skit concerning prenatal health issues.
Today we are primarily getting settled. Tomorrow we expect some rain, but pray that the electricity stays on. The last time it went out here it didn't turn back on for about 20 hours. Almost 20 hours of no power here is like a strawberry limeade with no strawberries. You could do it, but you'd much rather have the strawberries.
